Why does a new kitchen sink smell like sulfur from the cold tap only for a few seconds when turned on?

The only sink in the house that smells is the new kitchen sink. It only smells for a few seconds, then is normal. Only cold tap is affected. The pipe feeding the new sink is new also, but the rest of the house plumbing is old piping.
