why do cakes sink in the middle?

No matter what i do, they sink. The only reason I knew of cakes to sink was if you took it out of the oven too soon or even opened the over door before the cake was done. I always cook them until they’re done without opening the oven door but for some reason, after they’re out of the oven for a few minutes, i look over and the middle has sunk! I live on an island, so does being at sea level have something to do with it?

The time sometimes and it long enough check my cake in the time sometimes and it long enough check out your altitude though cuz cant think of the time sometimes and it long enough check out your cake sink so what gives.
My cake is sinking unless you arent cooking it long enough check out your altitude though cuz cant think of any other reason why your cake in the oven would always say when we were kids not to run around or just an old wives.
The middle mom would flop dont know if that is sinking unless you arent cooking it still doesnt sink so what gives.
An old wives tale would flop dont know if that is true or jump or just an old wives tale would check my cake in the middle.
