If you can remove the faucet where it swivels the access to the valve is easy to get to. Otherwise you might have to pull the whole assembly and work from the bottom. You can get to the diverter in a good deal of faucets by first turning of the water at the shut offs.Then remove the spout by loosening whatever type of retaining device holds it on .The diverter is in a hole on the front of the sleeve that the spout fits over on the faucet body. Pull it out ,take it to the hardware store to match it,put it all back together. possibly a diverter problem.
