Mildew under the kitchen sink. non-toxic way to kill it? or temp way to cover it so i don’t breathe it in?

I have a leak under the kitchen sink and I’ll be lucky if the management fixes that but I’m sure they will not fix the totally destroyed and mildewed area of the cabinet. I don’t want to breathe it in but am very sensitive to chemicals so is there anyway to either seal it off so I don’t breathe it or something that doesn’t smell that will kill it?
