How to unclog a backed up kitchen sink?

Take a water hose and put it down the drain vent pipe on top of the roof and push through if vent is clogged water will not drain.
Some times lent from laundry water riseing up the vent pipes will clog the vent pipes and dissallow the water to drain..

You may need a longer snake.I have used a drain cleaner called liquid fire poured it in and worked for me.
