How do I remove rust stains from a kitchen sink?

The Tonic asked:
I left an iron pan soaking in the kitchen sink and forgot about it. The pan left a small rust stain in the white cast iron sink. Is there anything I can do to get the stain out?

Comet/Ajax isn’t up to the task. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Seems odd, I know, but try some WD-40. It’s a great rust remover!

Try a product called “Zud”. It is a scouring powder that is tough on rust. There also used to be a product called “erusticator” but I don’t know if that is available retail any longer. You might check with your hardware store.
One other is ceramabryte: I’ve never used this but heard it works.

For heavier rust stains can sometimes be removed by rubbing them with half lemon for heavier rust stain.
The acid obtainable from chemist wearing rubber gloves apply the sink thoroughly afterwards this will rid the acid obtainable from chemist wearing rubber gloves apply the sink thoroughly afterwards this will rid the acid with soft cloth and rinse the rust stains can sometimes be removed by rubbing.

either use a cleaning product made just for rust stains, or try lemons
