The grinder thing wont work at all but just hums use broom handle turned it out with some long handled barbeque.

Sink if it would normally flow into outside your insinkerators clogged the pipes due to water not matching out put plunger will yes will clear if there for minute if theres any motion in the sink if there is.

you are better off getting a snake and trying to clear the drain manually. You may have a clog in the main drainline. which really sucks.
