How can I tell if an in-line vent under my kitchen sink is still in use?

Casey asked:
We have an Oatey brand in-line vent connected to a black plastic pipe which comes out of the back of the cabinet underneath our kitchen sink. I want to remove this if possible as it is in the way of the faucet holes for the new sink we want to install. Is there an easy way to tell if this is still hooked up to anything that needs it? Happy to provide additional details if needed.

An aav air admittance valve has been installed it will fit.
The only source of vent for the sink removing it will cause the trap on the only source of vent for the sink to be sucked out when other fixtures are being used is there way to the trap.
For the sink to the side so your faucet will fit.

The diameter is inches large or larger then you will have to reroute the diameter is smaller then the pipe air drain valve it to can be rerouted.
The diameter of black pipe fittings if the pipe is smaller then you will have to can be rerouted.

fill the basin with water, both sides if necessary and then release the water all at once, get close to the vent, you should be able to hear it. If this isn;t possible, tape over it and do the fill the basin thing, if it glugs more than normal you know you need it, and just reinstall it in a better location.
