What happens to watertight rooms when a ship sinks?

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011
nekohakase asked:

Many huge carriers like the Yamato, or other notable ships that have sunk over the years boast “watertight” rooms. What happens to those rooms when the ship sinks? Do they implode because of pressure, or are they still there, air and watertight, like a capsule at the bottom of the ocean?

Why does my cat scratch the sides of sinks and bathtubs?

Friday, December 23rd, 2011
Starr asked:

My cat, Bobby, loves to jump into sinks and bathtubs and scratch the sides of them, like he’s kneading them (but of course nothing happens except for some scratch marks in the porcelain). It’s kind of funny to watch but I wonder why does he do this? Thanks!

Saturday, December 17th, 2011
bugsmama asked:

I am working on a remodel of kids/guest bathroom. I have one long vanity cabinet with double rectangle sinks. I took down the long single mirror with track lighting and would like to go to two single mirrors above the vanities with some type of lighting. What shape of mirrors will look best and what type of lighting will look good and be functional?

After a shower, the water drain out slowly, but the sinks and toliets started to rise. I have a septic system?

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011
Ms No asked:

Plumbing Slow shower drain, Rising water
As I was showering, I noticed the water was not draining out as usual. Ten minutes had passed before the water went down, but the sinks, tubs, and toilets has risen. We do have a septic system and use Rid-X monthly. If it is the septic, what is the cost and length of time to fix?
