How can I tell if an in-line vent under my kitchen sink is still in use?

Thursday, August 16th, 2007
Casey asked:

We have an Oatey brand in-line vent connected to a black plastic pipe which comes out of the back of the cabinet underneath our kitchen sink. I want to remove this if possible as it is in the way of the faucet holes for the new sink we want to install. Is there an easy way to tell if this is still hooked up to anything that needs it? Happy to provide additional details if needed.

Thanks!

Angel

How do I remove rust stains from a kitchen sink?

Wednesday, August 15th, 2007
The Tonic asked:

I left an iron pan soaking in the kitchen sink and forgot about it. The pan left a small rust stain in the white cast iron sink. Is there anything I can do to get the stain out?

Comet/Ajax isn’t up to the task. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Bessie

Why does my kitchen sink have bad water pressure?

Sunday, August 12th, 2007
David B asked:

Throughout my house I have good water pressure everywhere but my kitchen sink. It is so bad that the dishwasher will not fill properly so does not wash the dishes. What would cause only this faucet to have poor water pressure?

Can a dishwasher be installed away from the kitchen sink?

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007
trstbmbk56560 asked:

We have bought a dishwasher and are installing it in an old kitchen. Only problem is it is not near the sink and unless we remodel, it never will be. We do however, have the option to run the hot water straight up from the basement (water heater is located almost directly below the dishwasher placement) and run a drain line downstairs into an outgoing pipe or the floor drain that we have. Is this an option we can use? Otherwise, I have a $400 counter prop! Please help!
