Ah… Mr. Screenflicker1, remember the Great Depression. Things were cheaper as deflation set in. It has been often said that if you were lucky enough to have a job after the depression set in you were better off than before. You could buy a house cheaper, maybe afford to hire a maid or gardener or that sort of thing; people would work for less. However, if you were part of the 25 percent of the population without a job naturally you were worse off and could not buy anything.

Well, I work with troubled children in the social services field/mental health. You can’t just let those kids out on the streets, many of them need help. You have to get a degree in a field relating to social serviced to get a job 90% of the time in such a field, or at least to make a decent(?) wage.
